Merry Christmas from the Pilkingtons

This is similar to what we mailed in our Christmas card... the boys are smiling here though. The one I picked for the mailing had Libby looking at the camera. It seems funny that the boys are so much older than the baby but we are getting used to it. I am definitely in love with and happy to have ALL of my children!!!! Posted by Picasa

BABY CLAUDETTE

Posted by Picasa This is our Grandma as a 7 month old in Poitier, France, taken in September of 1931. Note the dimple in her chin as well as her chubbiness! This reminds me of Libby... what a cutie-pie!

Pretty in her party dress

This is MOM when she was five. Isn't she adorable? Posted by Picasa

December 2005

With Thanksgiving done we are on our way to Christmas. I am normally by this point decorated and halfway done with purchasing presents. I have done nothing yet. Matt put up the lights on a nice day in November but that is it. It's not that I don't have the Christmas spirit, I am just more interested in a nap lately than in decorations and shopping when there is an available moment. I am a bad "girl-mommy", I don't even have a dress for Libby's first Christmas and I need to get her 3 month picture done, as she is now 14 weeks old already! I just received Collins picture with Santa and Gina scanned some old photos for me. I will post them in a bit. That's all for now...

October November 2005

Hoping to create a journal of our goings on and post often. Not sure how to archive yet month by month so for now all of October and November will appear on the site.

Well I'm back to work now and must say am very busy. I hate to leave Libby but am grateful for family who has been so helpful. Found a sitter who happens to be an old friend that grew up with Matt and Laura. She lives in the neighborhood and feel she is very trustworthy. Mom watched Libby once a week for me, Kay and Beth will continue to each have her once a week. I am spoiled.

Josh is home!!!! He arrived yesterday and got a job already today at Radius in Gurnee as a machinist. He has tentative plans to save up some money, fix his car, and drive down to Scott AFB to check into the reserve education program. I am so happy to have him home and will post pictures as soon as I take them. He is handsome as ever, very healthy.

Joe had a birthday 11/11... the big 15. He had ten girls over here the day of his party and all but one of the guys he invited were no-shows. Wow! What a differene between girls and boys. We made all this pizza and had tons leftover. (Would have been gone if 11 boys were here and no girls) Also, there was no cake. The girls asked for it though and I was ashamed for not making one - we had his birthday cake on his actual birthday the day before the party. I don't think the boys would have cared about cake with Pizza, chips, and junk food all over the place. The plan was for a bonfire outside but we got rained in. Still, I think everyone had fun.

Dad and Renee got married! There are posted pictures.

Dick and Kay renewed their vows as part of a 50th anniversary celebration. 50 years is a long time! There are posted pictures of this also. This was late October.

I can't think of anything else over the last couple of months so will close.

More nuptuals in October but this time it is a renewal of their sacred vows for Matt's parent's 50th anniversary. Posted by Picasa

Dad Brian Rod

At the manly-man weekend in October 05. No girls allowed. (Don't worry no girls are interested) Every year the guys go hunting with all the cousins in hilly PA where camping / hunting / partying go hand in hand. Yikes... doesn't anyone know that guns and alcohol are not a good mixture? We were a bit concerned how Brian would cope but as I understand it, he had a great time!!! Posted by Picasa

Lisa, Libby, Nana Nee (Nay) at Grampys Wedding 11/12/05

Grampy and Nana married at the McHenry County Courthouse in Woodstock. The judge thought I was the babysitter..ha ha. I got to sign the marriage certificate as a witness though... pretty cool. This week (11/21) they are in Turks and Caicos on their honeymoon. How fun! Posted by Picasa

GIGGLES

Posted by Picasa Libby loves her mobile! And to think, I was going to take it back because it didn't fit well on her crib (because rails are rounded). By the time she is big enough to mess with the mobile, it will come down anyways...
